Renovation & project handoff

Post-construction cleaning after the work is finished

Construction dust settles on more than floors. PRMB Cleaning scopes the finished areas, fine-dust load, surface types and handoff deadline so the final clean is scheduled after active work and heavy debris removal.

What a final construction clean addresses

The exact checklist depends on the project. A completed, safe site with utilities, access and heavy debris already handled gives the cleaning team the best chance to prepare the space for occupancy or walkthrough.

Fine dust

  • Reachable horizontal surfaces
  • Trim, sills and ledges
  • Cabinet and fixture exteriors
  • Floors and edges

Finish presentation

  • Visible smudges and light residue
  • Kitchen and bathroom surfaces
  • Interior glass when agreed
  • Final detail in completed rooms

Handoff coordination

  • Completed punch-list work
  • Safe power, water and lighting
  • Clear access and parking
  • Walkthrough date and priorities

Site readiness matters

Cleaning too early allows sanding, cutting, touch-ups and contractor traffic to reintroduce dust. Tell us whether the project is fully complete or needs phased cleaning, and identify any trades returning after the visit.

Not automatically included

  • Heavy construction-debris hauling
  • Hazardous or regulated materials
  • Adhesive, paint or coating removal that may damage finishes
  • High-access exterior work
  • Cleaning inside active work zones
  • Restoration of damaged surfaces

Information needed for a reliable quote

  1. Define the completed area.Provide square footage, room count and whether it is new construction or renovation.
  2. Show the current condition.Recent photos or a walkthrough reveal fine-dust load, residue and access.
  3. Identify surface sensitivities.Share manufacturer or contractor instructions for new finishes and specialty materials.
  4. Set the handoff sequence.Confirm the last trade date, inspection, furniture delivery and occupancy deadline.

Post-construction questions

When should the final cleaning happen?

After dusty work, punch-list repairs and heavy debris removal are complete, but before furniture or occupants limit access whenever possible.

Do you remove construction debris?

Heavy debris hauling is not assumed. Describe or photograph remaining materials so we can identify what must be removed by the contractor and what can be included.

Can the project be cleaned in phases?

Possibly. Phased cleaning needs clear separation between completed and active work zones and may require more than one visit.

Can every paint spot or adhesive mark be removed?

No. Removal depends on the product and surface, and aggressive methods may cause damage. Specialty residue is evaluated before it is included.
